Garry Batson’s Trilogy 2, three one act plays directed by Evria Ince Waldron, will begin performances at the Gene Frankel Theater on Wednesday, March 15. Each of these one act plays feature Eugene Daniels and each play shows the struggles a family goes thru when humanity presents the choice between good and evil.

Batson’s ILL WINDS presents a drug addicted boxer who is struggling to maintain custudy of his disabled son. When his wife insists that the son needs special care, the husband rebels and tries to do things his own way.

A barber’s son falls in love with a girl and hopes to run away with her. In FORT KNOX this future gets clouded when the boy  discovers she is a product of an abusive household.

A man attempting to leave for an international vacation with his wife, is detained by airport security. FLIGHT RISK is an attempt to address the challenges of racism, sexism, and the current split in our political dynamic.

Five years ago a version of Trilogy was produced at the Symphony Space. At that time The Amsterdam News called it “galvanizing” and added that “it harbors a broader message with the themes of fatherhood and masculinity juxtaposed with various other issues of urban Black life allowing the production to hone a more complex, multifaceted storyline.”

The cast of Trilogy 2 features Eugene Daniels and includes Nicole Marie Hunt, Matthew Watson, Gine Pemberton, Jacob Quinn, Brocton Pierce, Khaliah Daye, William Abbott, Jeancarlos Aponte, Crystal Williamson, Chris Terell and Natshia Lamartiniere.

Trilogy 2 will be performed on Wednesday, March 15th, Thursday, March 16th and Friday, March 17th at 8pm. Saturday matinee, March 18th and Sunday matinee March 19th are at 2pm. Saturday evening, March 18th is at 8pm and Sunday evening March 19th is at 7pm.  The Wednesday thru Sunday schedule continues thru April 2nd.
