“A CLASS ACT.”

A CLASS ACT
Book by Linda Kline and Lonny Price. Music and Lyrics by Edward Kleban.

I have a long history with this creative and well written musical. I went to one of the first readings at MTC Stage 2. My Mom couldn’t go so she sent me. One row ahead of me was Lonny Price taking notes. I adored the show and as we were leaving I asked him why he was taking notes. He told me he was one of the co writers the other being Linda Kline. Last night, I sat next to Linda who is the nicest lady and she kept telling me interesting facts about the production. I also had a repeat conversation with Lonny right before the talk back.

I loved every production of the show. I saw the reading at Stage 2, the full production at Stage 2, the Broadway production with Nancy Anderson as Mona and Randy Graff and last night, I saw the J 2 Spotlight version with a very talented cast. I was moved by Andy Tighe who sang and reminded me of Lonny Price in The Broadway production. He was sensational. Also standouts were Amandina Altomare as Mona who sings like an angel and Christina Carlucci as Lucy.

The story takes place at a Memorial for Ed Kleban and all the characters talk about how he was the genius that wrote “A CHORUS LINE.”
This short run playing until the 20th is a must see and is well Directed by Robert W. Schneider. I think he is a very large talent and you need to catch this production as it is marvelous. Get your tickets 18,19 and 20th. It is such a stellar production it should be extended as it was as good as the original with less of a budget. See it.
I had the best time. PLEASE DON’T MISS IT, YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!
