Movie Predictions?

It is that time of year. The time when all the great movies are being screened for award season. It is too early to make predictions but some of my favorites are:

You all must see Hidden Figures when it opens. Octavia Spencer is sure to be nominated for Best Supporting actress and should win!

Moonlight: A very depressing but brilliant film that will most likely get some BAFTA and OSCAR nods. It does have a positive ending but it is rough. I saw this movie very early in the morning and I am not a morning person. See this film at night.
Loving: A brilliant film with an excellent message. A must see but only for adults as it is upsetting.
Jackie: Natalie Portman is breathtaking as Jackie Kennedy. Hope they make a sequel as I didn’t want the film to end. Portman is special and should be nominated for her perfect casting.
Amy Adams vs Amy Adams: I loved her in Nocturnal Animals and she was also fantastic in The Arrival. She will probably get nominated for both roles and will be up against herself.
The Secret Life of Pets: Hope voters remember this very funny animated film during award season. It has become a favorite. There are a lot of great animated films this season: Trolls, Sausage Party Moana who will win? I loved all.
Indignation a favorite. Hope it is remembered during award season
Cafe’Society another great film from the Summer. Hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Stewart’s best acting role
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: Should win for special effects and loved Dan Fogler in the film.
The Founder: A look at how McDonald’s started. Michael Keaton should be among those nominated for his sleazy performance of a ruthless salesman who stole McDonald’s away from the original founders. A very well done film.
Emma Stone should be nominated for her stunning dancing and singing in LA LA Land .
Hoping Mandy Moore is nominated for an Astaire award for her brilliant choreography in LA LA Land.
Manchester By The Sea: I predict this film will be nominated for Best Picture. It was nominated for five Golden Globe awards. Will it clean up at the Oscars and BAFTA awards? I think so.
