CORINE:
I have loved all of your shows. “Avenue Q”, “Altar Boyz”, “Johnny and the Sprites.” Pretty excited for “Broadway’s Next Hit Musical.” Tell me all about it and will you be playing the piano on September 9th?
GARY:Thanks for the shout out to my former musical projects! BNHM is a completely improvised musical theater piece created by our producers (Rob, Deb, and Greg). In the first half of the show, we improvise 3 or 4 original songs based on song titles given to us by the audience. The audience votes for their favorite song, and in the second half we create the entire musical containing the winning song. And it all happens in 75 minutes! I will indeed be playing the show on Sept 9th.
CORINE:What is next for you?
GARY: The day after our performance, I’m getting in a car and moving to Dallas, where I’ll be serving as the resident music director of the Dallas Theater Center. But I’ll still be performing with BNHM!
