Last night, I had the great privilege of covering Inside The Broadway BMI Writer’s room with Bobby and Kristen Anderson Lopez who wrote Frozen. Winnie The Pooh and with Jeff Marx one of my favirite shows of all time. That will always be Avenue Q. It was exciting to hear Stephanie sing A FINE FINE LINE and it was pristine as usual. Rick sang with a Kermit The Frog puppet and you would swear that Jim Henson was in the room at the time it was magnificent! The whole event was.
I wish I was allowed to photograph but was told not to. Hopefully I will get some.
The evening spanned nearly 3 hours but felt like 10 minutes. Mr. Hartley talked with Tom Kitt and Amanda Green. They discussed Next To Normal and Hands On A Hardbody as well as numerous other shows.
It was a magnificent evening that I wished I could watch again. BMI has brought some incredible talent to Broadway and film and changed lives of many talented writers.
