I have been very fortunate to cover this series since the beginning and have seen most of them.
Scott Siegel creates magic on the stage for over 20 years he puts together shows saluting the best Broadway has to offer.
Tonight was choreographed by the talented Danny Gardner who knows how to make a cast dance! The show opened with “A Musical.” From Something Rotten and it was very fresh!
Next Quentin Earl Darrington blew the roof off with “The Circle Of Life.” This is from The Lion King and I have the Forbidden Broadway curse and hear The “Circle Of Mice” but he got a standing ovation!
Even more hilarious Forbidden Broadway star Jenny Lynn Stern did Disney’s “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”,She was very funny. She did however steal, the show when she did Chicago’s “Cell Block Tango” and sang all the parts. She is the stuff that makes legends!
Forbidden Broadway happens to be one of my favorite shows and last night was an,evening I will cherish.
Joe Iconis and family did three songs “Michael In The Bathroom” from “BE MORE CHILL.” And it was fabulous but “PARTY HAT” sung by Lauren Marcus about putting a
party hat on her cat was hysterical!
Next up they did “WAIT,FOR IT” and “BURN.” From HAMILTON! It made me want to see Hamilton again!
In act one Danny Gardner and Gunhild Carling did “Show Off” and played a million instruments while singing and dancing. It was over the top and got a standing ovation from the audience. And Danny Gardner and the Broadway by The Year Dance troupe closed the show with some impressive choreography from Billy Joel’s “Movin Out.” They certainly showed off with this Broadway By The Year. The show ran long it ended at 10.50 but it felt very short and the talented cast brought cheer to a happy audience.
After being out of The Town Hall for over 2 long years Broadway By The Year showed off and thank god for Scott Siegel!
