I have been covering this wonderful series since the 2000’s as press. Last night, I was invited by one of my favorite performers which was the best! Gina Goodman has been one of the longest female understudies in Forbidden Broadway and as the biggest fan of FB, I have seen her and understudy Bill Selby often on stage and also in the audience! Gina performed as Liza and Merman last night and she was outstanding. She is talented and kind! It was so great to see three numbers from FB with Gina and Michael West who did “Goulet” from Camelot which will be appearing on Broadway in the Fall. West never disappoints. He should have dressed as Harvey and did You Can Stop the Beat my favorite West number.
Jason Graae is always hilarious and killed it with songs from “Hello Muddah,Hello Faddah.” Also they had 3 of the 4 cast of “Forever Plaid.” The main singer was out as he tested positive so they put his jacket on a hook and sang back up and they called the actor and he sang it on a cell phone. It was very funny!
Danny Gardner sang “Dont Give In” from William Finn’s “A New Brain” and did an amazing tap dance at the same time. Bill had an AVM and collapsed and wrote it after he recovered. I was deeply moved by his performance!
Loved the entire show. It was a fabulous night at The Town Hall.
