Selma

Selma stars: Colman Domingo (Passing Strange on Broadway) Carmen Ejogo, David Oyelowo, Giovanni Ribisi, Lorraine Toussaint, Tim Roth, Tom Wilkinson, Oprah Winfrey and Wendell Pierce.

The film takes place in 1965 when Martin Luther King played brilliantly by David Oyelowo, tries to get equality for Black voters in Selma. He pleads with the President to make it happen and they make a peaceful protest which leads to a blood bath, murders and terror by offensive bigoted police officers.

This is a strong contender for Best Picture this year and the cast of this film are all outstanding. It was great to see Colman Domingo in this film by the side of David Oyelowo, playing a preacher that helps Martin Luther King with his protests in Selma. The film is very powerful and it was very hard to watch the horrible treatment of African Americans. Kudos to Brad Pitt and Oprah for making this very important film. This film is on my top movie list of the year. 5 stars.
